One variable
f(x) is continuous at x = a if:
- f(a) is defined
exists
= f(a)
Two variables
f(x) is continuous at (a,b) if:
If f is continuous at each point in its domain, we say f is continuous.
Note
- Continuity may not mean differentiable (for example at kinks)
